NuMicro NUC230 / NUC240 series of 32-bit ARM microcontrollers

Nuvoton Technology Corporation company introduced two new series of 32-bit microcontrollers with embedded ARM® Cortex-M0 core: NuMicro NUC230 (CAN series) and NUC240 (Connectivity Series) designed for consumer electronics and industrial control applications. They provide the high 72 MHz operating speed and are equipped with a rich set of peripherals. Compared to the older series NUC230 and NUC240, NUC230 / NUC240 microcontrollers have additional CAN communication interface.


They key features are:
  • ARM® Cortex-M0 core which runs up to 72 MHz and supports 32-bit hardware multiplier
  • NVIC for the 32 interrupt inputs, each with 4-levels of priority
  • supports Serial Wire Debug (SWD) interface
  • built-in LDO for wide operating voltage ranged from 2.5 V to 5.5 V
  • In-System-Programming (ISP) and In-Application?Programming (IAP)
  • 32/64/128 KB Flash for program code
  • 8/16 KB SRAM
  • fixed 4 KB Data Flash for the 32 KB and 64 KB systems and configurable Data Flash address and size for 128 KB system
  • 8 KB Flash for ISP loader
  • 9-channel PDMA
  • four 32-bit timers
  • Watchdog Timer
  • Real Time Clock (RTC)
  • 4-channel 16-bit PWM,
  • up to 83 (NUC230) or 79 (NUC240) GPIOs
  • 5 clock sources:
    • external 4~24 MHz high-speed crystal oscillator for system operation
    • external 32768 Hz crystal oscillator for RTC function and low power system operation
    • internal 22,1184 MHz trimmable high-speed RC oscillator for system operation
    • internal 10 kHz RC oscillator for Watchdog and Wake-up operation
    • programmable PLL output clock frequency, up to 72 MHz, sourced from external crystal or RC high speed oscillators for high performance system operation
  • interfaces:
    • 6 x high-speed UARTs with IrDA (SIR), LIN and RS485 functions
