THE ISD1916 CHIPCORDER DEVICE [Pdf]
The ISD1916 ChipCorder is a multi-message record/playback device with dual operating modes and with a simple push-button interface. It can be also manipulated by a microcontroller.
The ISD1916 is a successor of discontinued ISD1400 and ISD2500 series devices and can substitute them in new designs.
Basic features:
- push-button interface
- two operational modes:
- address trigger with 16 addressable memory areas for messages (flexible message duration defined by start address and stop address)
- direct trigger with 8 fixed equal message configurations and fixed message duration
- internal clock
- variable sampling frequency: 12.0 kHz, 8.0 kHz, 6.4 kHz, 5.3 kHz or 4.0 kHz, selected by external resistor
- variable total record duration 10.6 ... 32 s, depending on selected sampling frequency
- differential microphone preamplifier circuit with AGC or analog input for recording
- feed-through the analog signal to the speaker outputs
- PWM differential speaker outputs
- LED signalling of record operation and end of message
- automatic power-down mode after each operation
- wide operating voltage range: 2.4 ... 5.5 V
- industrial operating temperature range: -40 ... +85°C
- package: 28-pin SOIC, Pb-free
Applications:
- voice memo record and playback
- voice alarm systems
- miniature digital recorders
- power saving battery powered voice applications
