A NEW ISD15000 SERIES OF RECORD/PLAYBACK DEVICES
The ISD15000 series ICs are multiple message record/playback devices featuring digital compression, digital storage in flash memory, comprehensive memory management, and integrated analog/digital audio signal paths.
This family offers excellent audio quality. Unlike other ChipCorder series the ISD15000 series provide an I2S digital audio interface, faster digital recording, higher sampling frequency - up to 48 kHz (and thereby wider bandwidth)
and a signal path with SNR equivalent to 12 bit resolution. The digital audio data can be taken via I2S or SPI interface. This data can be either recorded directly without mixing or mixed with the analog audio inputs
and sent to the analog outputs. Output digital audio data is available from I2S or SPI interface. Similarly to other ISD devices the ISD15000 series has also built-in analog audio inputs (one of them can be used as a microphone differential input), analog audio line driver and speaker driver output (PWM mode).
Basic features:
- multi-message, address-free recording
- fast digital recording, up to 1 Mbit/sec
- seven record and playback sampling frequencies are available for a given master sample rate
(for a 32 kHz master sample rate, sampling frequencies of 4 / 5.3 / 6.4 / 8 / 12.8 / 16 / 32 kHz are available)
- compression algorithms: 2/3/4/5-bit ADPCM, 8/10/12-bit PCM without compression, 6/7/8-bit μ-Law
- record duration: 1...32 minutes based on 4-bit ADPCM modulation and 8 kHz sampling frequency.
There are six parts with different duration:
ISD15001 - 1 min
ISD15002 - 2 min
ISD15004 - 4 min
ISD15008 - 8 min
ISD15016 - 16 min
ISD15032 - 32 min
